On Saturday 26th April we had a great event at Six Brixton. There was a wonderful, positive atmosphere bringing together so many parts of our community. The day included the launch of Blockworkout’s Brixton Street Gym, Brixton Come Together’s Spring Session with amazing performances from Omar, Poeticats, Lescines & Beans on Toast, fire eaters, trapeze artists, a green workshop, also the Mosaic Room’s worked with people to create Brixton portraits, plus Makerhood and some great street artists including Solo 1.
A key part of the day were debates on the longer term plans including how could we set the local lettings policy to make a successful street and what should be the criteria for membership of the new community body. These are important issues and the debate will continue over the coming months. There was great enthusiasm for the future uses and how we can start to make them happen now.
